Perform borehole deformability tests with the Ettlingen dilatometer, use the ETIBS optical borehole scanner to inspect the exploratory boreholes, and perform stress measurements with the borehole slotter in the exploratory tunnel for the Tanahu HPP in 2017.

The hydrological and topographical conditions in Nepal mean that the country will play a decisive role in the supply of electricity to the Indian subcontinent through the development of hydropower. The planned Tanahu hydropower plant on the Seti River - about 150 km from the capital Kathmandu - is to become the country's first large storage power plant and thus play a pioneering role in the future implementation of similar plants. The planned 140 m high gravity dam will be able to dam up a water volume of approx. 190 million m³ and will also produce more than 500 GWh of electricity per year for export to India. In international cooperation with Tanahu Hydropower Limited, Lahmeyer International and Manitoba Hydro International, the building is to be completed over a period of 12 years.
